Oh, and yes, I have adjusted the rod so that it less than .020" from the stop (per the spec) with the throttles completely disconnected. So, at idle, it is probably burning 50:1 but when the linkage moves out, it is throwing more leverage and opening too far... I hope this is the issue because if so, its an easier fix then rebuilding the oil pump. That protects the motor by injecting more oil should there be a problem with the rod adjustment or connection. Of course if you run at low speed with the lower oil ratio, not only will you use more oil than needed,...
