Q: with an electric shaver, not an electric razor i still get razor bumps, is this normal?
i also get these white bumps that look like zits that i can just scratch off but it leave a red mark, what are these?
A: Yes, it's normal for men with curly hair. The reason is that the hairs curl as they grow back and the sharp tip where they were cut curls around and goes back into the skin.
If i buy the Panasonic - Nanotech Electric Shaver - will it avoid me getting razor bumps? and will it give me a good clean shave? If not what would you recommend that would thank you please detailed answer that works!
First get a good razor, a gilette 3blade razor are usually the best. The main thing is get a rag and get the water super hot, un bearably hot. Put this on your face with it folded over once kinda like a bandit in a cowboy movie. Then put it back under the hot water, then put it on your neck and bottom of chin area. This opens up your pours. Always shave in the direction of your hair growth. never shave upwards always downwards in other words. always use shaving cream too i forgot to mention after the rag part. then be sure and put after shave LOTION not after shave. any lotion will do but that will salve your problem over night. It sounds like a lot of work but if you do it consistanly you bumps will no longer be an issue.
Mr.Boombastic Mungbean Hi, I’m assuming you wet shave? Ok, try this. If possible, try only to shave when you HAVE to. When you need a shave, first have a shower and get lots of hot water on your face to open up your pours. Then rub a little ‘KING OF SHAVES’ oil into your face (the one with tea tree oil in it. Shave using a clean blade dipped in very hot water. Use downward strokes if possible. After shaving, use a sensitive skin face wash using COLD water to close your pores. Never put after shave on your face, this dries out the skin and causes spots etc. Good luck.
...Dear Ms. O (Mocha),

My BF likes it when I shave. But the problem is that sometimes it can be very itchy! Do girls really need to shave? Can you also give me some advice on how to prevent vaginal itchiness caused by shaving?
Thanks so much! I always follow all your posts on your blog to satisfy my BF! More power!
"Leila"
Dear Leila,
Shaved pubes can increase sensation and sexual pleasure. There are also healthy reasons to shave down there.
Shaving your pubic hair can decrease vaginal odor and yeast infection. The most common yeast infection in women is called candidiasis.
Fungi or yeasts are commonly found in the human body. They thrive in wet and moist areas. Under certain circumstances, they multiply and become infectious. You can get yeast infection by trapping moisture in the vaginal area.
Pubic hair traps perspiration and moisture, making it vulnerable to yeast and also bacterial infections.
When my beard grows in it begins to itch forcing me to shave. Nothing special. But when i shave if i dare use a blade I WILL get razor bumps. I've tried foam but that does nothing. My skin just feels so sensitive after a shave and like clock work
