, Based on the 1992 John Gray book that highlights the vast differences between men and women, and attempts to bridge the differences. Elfont and Kaplan will turn the title into a romantic comedy, with BermanBraun's Lloyd Braun and Gail Berman producing.
Surviving Christmas was one of the worst movies ever made. Josie and the Pussycats was just as bad. This will be another shallow insipid rom-com just like “Valentine’s Day” it’ll have a dozen stars in it playing six “strikingly different” couples each of whom will get 15 minutes of screen time and they’ll all learn the truth, that men and women really are very different. The book will be republished with a “soon to be a major motion picture” sticker on it. The book was previously a daytime talk show but I’d really like to see the movie have giant robots fighting each other, make it a summer blockbuster with male and female giant robots stomping all over Los Angeles, don’t limit it to the adult rom-com demo make it into a four quadrant crowd pleaser. Harry and Deb should be able to handle that no problem.
Gray, whose book has sold over 50 million copies in 45 countries, details the vast gender differences and make suggestions on how to find common ground. Despite that apparent gulf between the sexes, Elfont and Kaplan have done pretty well. They have been creatively collaborating since they met at NYU. They most recently scripted the Amy Adams-Matthew Goode romantic comedy Leap Year
