Electric Razors Carry On
Q: I am flying for the first time today and have an electric razor but not sure if i can bring it on my carry on. Also not sure if I have to put it in a plastic bag or not.
A: I never had any trouble with mine. The bag and Norelco shaver goes through the scanner with nobody questioning it.
Think of the tens of thousands of adults who travel every day. Many do not take any checked luggage. Those people take their razors in carry on luggage, both standard safety razors, and electric razors.
Really – the hysteria over security is terribly overblown. The people who look at the contents of carry on bags know what a safety razor looks like, and they know an electric razor. They see hundreds of them every day. Yours will be perfectly fine. Don’t worry about it.
IT has been so long a feature of the College Square landscape that locals probably pass it by without so much as giving it a second glance. But it's there. It protrudes, unobtrusively, out from over a doorway adjacent to Seán Leo O'sullivan's Auctioneers - the blood and bandages of a barber shop pole. The sound that greets your ears as you climb the stairs to the first floor is the buzz of an electric razor, almost, but not quite, muffling the to and fro of conversation between Seán and a customer. In 58 years, in that same room, Seán has groomed the heads of tens of thousands of local men and has had as many conversations - yarns have been spun, hot topics discussed, matches dissected, confessions made. But there's no absolution given, just a smartly groomed head!
Are electric razors (Norelco types) allowed in carry on bags in domestic flights in USA?
