BRAUN HAND BLENDER/CHOPPER

Go&Do: Dan Hicks & The Hot Licks to play Stratham
Dan Hicks & the Hot Licks bring 'Holidaze in Hicksville' tour

to Seacoast

The pioneers of the famed '60s San Francisco music scene, Dan HIcks And The Hot Licks are bringing their holidaze show, "Holidaze In Hicksville" to The Meehan Performing Arts Center, 100 Academy Way (The Co-op Middle School), Stratham, on Saturday, Dec. 3 at 8 p.m.

Not only is Dan a pioneer of the famed San Francisco music scene, he is also a snappy dresser. This year, the dapper Dan and the Hot Licks are bringing their Holidaze extravaganza to the East Coast for the first time. Hicks and The Licks debuted the show last year to amazed audiences in the west. They are celebrating the release of their recent album of holidaze classics, Crazy For Christmas, on the Surf Dog label.

Take the crooning of Tony Bennet, the down home wisdom of Hank Williams, and the high society acoustic Paris cabaret feeling of Django Reinhardt, put it in a '60s psychedelic blender, and you have an idea of what Dan puts across in his music. For almost 50 years his music has been influencing everybody from Tom Waits to Rickie Lee Jones to The Dead.
