The weather cooperated during the Nov. 11 dig that averaged 14 clams per person at Long Beach and Twin Harbors, and it was just shy of 12 clams at Mocrocks.
But, a storm arrived the evening of Nov. 12 that resulted in difficult digging with a 3.8 average at Long Beach, 8.4 at Twin Harbors and 10.8 at Mocrocks.
Overall clam sizes were a plump 4.4 inches at Long Beach, 3.4 at Twin Harbors and 4.3 at Mocrocks.
I've tried it and it gives a smooth shave and the foil doesn't get warm at all. I think it's a good lubricant, though there might be razor burn issues.
It is a good way to lubricate the foil and cutter. I might try vegetable oil though.
