A: I used a Braun shaver for a number of years and some powder on my face seemed to help. The compressed stick stuff was convenient but a little pricey. I finally settled on a little unscented talcum powder.

The next coastal razor clam digs are Friday and Saturday, but unpredictable weather makes planning a trip dicey.
"We've got the thumbs up, and now all we can do is hope for good weather," said Dan Ayres, the head state Fish and Wildlife coastal shellfish biologist. "The early forecast for the middle of the week looks scary with some flooding and a lot of rain which concerns us."
Digging is open from noon to midnight Friday (low tide is minus-1.9 feet at 6:27 a.m.) at Long Beach, Twin Harbors, Copalis and Mocrocks; and again from noon to midnight Saturday (-1.8 at 7:14 p.m.) at Long Beach, Twin Harbors and Mocrocks.
The weather cooperated during the Nov. 11 dig that averaged 14 clams per person at Long Beach and Twin Harbors, and it was just shy of 12 clams at Mocrocks.
But, a storm arrived the evening of Nov. 12 that resulted in difficult digging with a 3.8 average at Long Beach, 8.4 at Twin Harbors and 10.8 at Mocrocks.
Overall clam sizes were a plump 4.4 inches at Long Beach, 3.4 at Twin Harbors and 4.3 at Mocrocks.
