Q: I was just wondering if they are better? Cos there are the sonic electric toothbrushers and they sound quite good?
A: Electric toothbrushes are better - not necessarily because they work better, but because studies have shown that people use them for longer than manual brushes.
The only electric toothbrushes that are better than manuals are the type that oscillate
Does it really make a difference?
What kind of toothbrush do you have?
I have to say that after using this brush with the polishing cup head, my teeth have never felt so smooth! I feel like I've come home from a professional cleaning at the dentist every time I brush my teeth! That must mean that my teeth are getting super clean :) After trying out a couple of different electric toothbrushes, I'm definitely convinced that they are the way to go! I love how my mouth feels after using this brush. Although the texture of this toothpaste is slightly grittier and thicker than what I am used to, I don't mind it at all. I enjoy the mint flavour and if the toothpaste does what it claims to, then I am all for it because I have sensitive teeth to begin with. In fact, after using this toothpaste for a couple of months now, I can honestly say that I have noticed a slight reduction in my tooth sensitivity. It must be because of this toothpaste! Yeah! Last week I was in Durban for a few hours to drive a Nissan. It’s a car I’ll write about another time, because while the car was genuinely different and interesting, nothing in the world could possibly have been more exciting than the 20-year-old machine that brought me home to Cape Town.
The truth is that I’m a bad flyer. I hate the whole process, the airport misery, the sheer silliness of cramming hundreds of people into a large aluminium tube, lighting one end with a sophisticated match and blasting it into the sky. My refrain in life ("What could possibly go wrong?") is answered tragically several times a year. I hate it.
Over the years I have developed theories and coping mechanisms. One theory is, the bigger the plane the better. I used to leap for joy when getting news that we would be on a 747 as opposed to a 737. I’d be positively ecstatic when the ticket told me we’d be on an A380, and the reason was simple. The bigger the bird, I reckoned, the less bouncy and unpleasant it would be. I wanted to fly on a city in the sky. The more ponderous and improbable the lift-off, the better. I’ll never forget the first time I flew in that ridiculous Airbus. The way it tenuously clawed its way into the thin air over Joburg, sinews straining, was just up my street.
I'm contemplating buying an electric toothbrush in order to preserve my gums, but is it worth the cost? If so, which electric toothbrush do you recommend? I'm eyeing the Oral-B Triumph Professional Care 9400.
