Q: Hi
I need to buy a philips electric shaver. After weeks of researching, i've narrowed down my options to 2:

- http://www.amazon.co.uk/Philips-RQ1051-A RCitec-Rechargeable-Rotary/dp/B000RM87AG
A: Though most definitely a wet shaver, I always have an electric shaver for five O'clock shadow. I would go for the Philips HS8460/25 Nivea Shaver, I have used one of the moisturiser dispensing Philips for years and surprisingly I can't find the same one
The Philips RQ1051 ARCitec is the base model of the ARCitec range from Philips and as such has the fewest features. Having said that, this range has already been well received by consumers, so let’s see if even the starter model does a good job:
Each of the four electric shavers in the ARCitec range is a sleek, attractive design and therefore the Philips RQ1051 ARCitec is no different. Sitting above a narrow neck, the three rotary blades sit on a minimal shave head. This serves to provide plenty of room for manoeuvre and the shave head can pivot to follow the contours of your face. The Philips RQ1051 ARCitec is lightweight, fits nicely in the hand and lets you use it in quite a precise way being in no way bulky at all. This is also a very quiet shaver, producing not much more than a whir as it works.
The Philips RQ1051 ARCitec Cuts Neck Hairs WellIn the rivalry between rotary shavers and foil shavers, one notable advantage of foil shavers to this point has been cutting technology which does a better job of shaving your neck. The Philips RQ1051 ARCitec and indeed the whole ARCitec range has been geared towards redressing the balance. The number-one technology used by the Philips RQ1051 ARCitec to address this problem is the Flex and Pivot Action system; all three heads can move independently, swivelling and flexing to maintain optimum skin contact in areas with flat lying hairs such as the neck. The entire head section can tilt back and forwards, meaning hairs are gripped by the roots and cut cleanly. The Philips RQ1051 ARCitec does indeed do a better job of cutting neck hairs than the average rotary shaver, but there is still room for improvement.
